Benue Native Fanendo Adi Splashes N2m On Lobi Stars

Former MLS Star Fanendo Adi will stand by his words and pay Lobi Stars ₦ 2million for advancing to the Group stage of the CAF Champions League.


Adi who now plays for FC Cincinnati in the United Soccer League Championship, reportedly promised the NPFL winners ₦500,000 for every goal scored and ₦1million for a win against the Kenyan team.



Adi who hails from Benue State was ecstatic when the team finally scored the deciding second goal with just minutes to spare.


By beating the Kenyan champions Gor Mahia 2-0 after falling 3:1 in Nairobi, the West Africans got the nod to move on basis of their away goal.

 
The club’s official twitter handled quoted the former Portland Timbers forward:


Benue State indigene & @fccincinnati star, @fanendo, promised players of @LobiStars N500,000 per goal and N1,000,000 for victory during the interval. The players delivered. “Since I am home as @MLS is on break, I came to support my State team, #WeAreLobi. I am happy #Lobi won”.
