In a series of tweets by NFF president Amaju Pinnick, he noted the game is part of his administration’s initiative to expose more players to international football.
“We have secured a Grade A international friendly match for the Super Eagles against Ukraine in Kiev, on the 10th of September,” Pinnick tweeted.
Ukraine is ranked 25th in the Wolrd while Nigeria is 33rd. The two teams have never played each other before though they did clash at the U20 WC in Poland where they drew 1-1 in Group play. Ukraine would eventually end up as World Champions.
