Imo Awareness Coalition Wants New Ohaneze Ndi Igbo President To Come From Imo State, Launches Effort

As the race for the Presidency of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo gets into its final stages, the Imo Awareness Coalition (IAC), a political study/lobby group based in Owerri has said there is the need for the State to put forward it's best foot and take over the Ohaneze Presidency.
In a statement signed by Fidelis Echendu, the Publicity Secretary of the Coalition, it said the Ohaneze Presidency is not an all-comers affair, therefore Imo State owes it a duty to the Igbo, to ensure that the next President of Ohaneze is one with exceptional quality.
The new leader also needs to command the respect of Igbo at home and in Diaspora, have a fine and unblemished character, and be devoid of the stain of corruption it also insisted going to say:
“The Ohaneze President is the mirror the world looks at Igbs. It is a position not for political jobbers, or those whose integrity are suspect

The IAC also reminded all that in a time where the Igbo are at cross roads over its political fate and destiny in the country, the next Ohaneze Ndi Igbo President from Imo State, should be one imbued with the Igbo spirit.
“The Igbo are at crossroads over its political future as regards the agitation for a sovereign state of Biafra canvassed by the IPOB and the quest by the majority to produce a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023.
“The next Ohaneze President from Imo State must be a good political strategist, credible with diplomatic chops that will enable him to navigate the delicate compass of the future of Igbo
“The post is not for a Johnny just come or one who lacks tact and finesse to moderate the divergent socio-political position of the Igbo nation. ”
The IAC called on Imo State Governor, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, to aid in the search for a credible, dependable Imolite who has the respect of all geo-political zones in the country, as the next President of Ohaneze from Imo State.
Chief John Nnia Nwodo the current President hails from Igboetiti, in Enugu State.
