Anybody who knows anything about the new modern Nigerian Army knows a thing or two about Ginikanwa Nwosu.
His accolades in the Army speak for themself and bear testimony to a long career spent in dedication to the Federation.
And when we mean the Federation we mean both in and out of the country because he has held several command staff and instructional appointments including commanding officer 1 Battalion, Nigerian Army which he took to the UN mission in Liberia as NIBATT 12 where they served with distinction, and won a slew of merits.
With a Masters degree in Strategic Studies and as a member of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies one can see how and why he is destined to go far.
Nwosu, a seasoned infantry officer and a member of the Regular Course 37 was named Commander of the 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army Sokoto as far back as in 2016.
There again he excelled at his job restoring security to the region and dealing effectively with the scourge of cattle rustling and banditry, unlike neighbouring states where it blossomed into the national disaster than it has now become.

Last week and as reported by the Awareness, the Army promoted 34 Brigadier-Generals to the rank of Major-General and 47 Colonels to the rank of Brigadier-Generals respectively.
To no surprise, Brig.-Gen Ginikanwa Nwosu made the cut and is now a full Major-General satisfying his lifelong dream. Maj Gen Nwosu is currently the commandant, Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Buni Yadi. Yobe State
It also satisfied his family and the people of Nkwerre who have a long tradition of serving both in the NPF and in the Army going as far back as the West African Frontier Force as well as the Royal Niger Constabulary.
