Officers of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) yesterday raided a popular skincare facility in Surulere, Lagos.
During the dawn raid, the operatives carted away several different skincare products and chemicals for laboratory analysis. It also ordered the interim suspension of operations.
The Awareness was informed that the shop had been under surveillance for a while for suspected use of unapproved products and chemicals as well as unorthodox procedures
Babatunde Irukera, (above) the Chief Executive Officer of the FCCPC, revealed that “further investigative actions are ongoing”. He also advised consumers against the use of untested, uncertified and unapproved procedures, which may result in potential adverse effects and permanent injury.
