Despite representing his country at all youth levels they failed to honour the fallen star a painful faux par that upset his family who shared:
"We sent out the programme in December, but there was no representative from the football community," a family member shared.
"Imagine a former captain of Nigeria and there were no NFF representatives in the audience.
"This is another lesson for footballers, you are only important when you are actively involved in the game because no one cares after your career is over."
Meanwhile, while his country's football Federation snubbed his funeral his former team the Austin Bold did the right thing and remembered their fallen teammate at their stadium.
. An accomplished player, Isaac became the club’s 7th signing in history in August 2018 after spending the previous 12 seasons in the Turkish Süper Lig, TFF First League, and the Saudi Professional League. In that time, Isaac registered over 350 appearances and scored 79 goals.
The club stated: “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and teammates;” as they mourned Promise. The team also awarded Promise a Post-humus Best Player Award
Not to belabour the point, but It is instances like this why the NFF is now being referred to as the Non Functioning Federation.
Shame on them.
Promise is survived by his wife Kate and three children.
